vehicle has been consuming oil since purchased with 9,500 miles. oil consumption has contributed to fouled spark plugs. fouled spark plugs triggered "cylinder #3 misfire" code and extremely poor performance at highway speeds. two different occasions the car experienced different cylinder misfire issues. honda dealer performed engine computer software updates on two different occasions that did not remedy the oil consumption issue. no warning lights to indicate that the engine was 3 quarts low on oil. if the consumer is not aware that the vehicle is using oil, there is potential for the engine to seize causing costly repairs or to lose power in a dangerous situation. dealer is now performing honda oil consumption test. according to honda, consuming 1 quart of oil in 1,000 miles is normal and acceptable. this burned oil is being released into the environment as evidenced by the black carbon on the tail pipes. it is hard to believe that a leading car manufacturer would deem oil consumption in a brand new vehicle as normal or acceptable. this is the first vehicle out of 12 that i have ever owned that consumed oil. even vehicles with over 200,000 miles did not consume oil. i purchased a honda so that i did not have to worry about reliability or break downs for many years. now i have to worry with checking the oil every week as to not get low or run out. same vehicle has also had premature rear brake pad wear and had to be replaced at 60,000 miles. complaint has been filed with american honda. class action lawsuits have been filed against honda over the premature rear brake pad wear and the oil consumption issues.

check engine light went on and off a few times, took it to autocheck and found a code. took it to dealer, they could not locate the code and claimed there is no issue they can find, come back when it happens again. few weeks later, the check engine light came again in the evening, and now with other problems, the whole electric system including lights, radio etc started dancing on and off, abs light came on and off. happened for a few minutes and then everything went smooth. i took the car back to dealership and they claim the code p0685 was found and there was a software update for the pcm and they applied that update. i asked why was there no intimation about it and the response was that it was not considered as one of the critical updates. with the experience i had, the way things were happening in that 2-3 minutes of electric system dance, anything could have gone wrong with the car. there should be a recall notice sent for this update.

i am the first owner of 2003 accord, ex. my car has 113,000 miles on it. its a well maintained car i kept for years. i must say that this car is excellent, however, there are signs that some parts are not functioning really well lately. for the past few months, i noticed my tcs sign on the dashboard comes on and off together with the triangle sign in orange. it started coming on after i turned off the ignition to my first destination and after just like 10-15 minutes and start my engine again, it will come on after driving for next 5-10 minutes. also, just two weeks ago i noticed that the gear gets stuck on "park" mode and i have to press the handle before it gets released. i am not sure if the gear has something to do with the tcs and triangle showing on the dashboard. also, i noticed my car has an issue with brakes when driving while raining. i have to step on the brakes a few times when its slippery to be able to come to a full stop. it's so scary that i almost hit the car in front of me a few times. i am lodging my complain so the manufacturer would take a look on this issue as i found all the complaints on tcs issue on 2003 honda accord ex online when i was trying to look for a solution on the same issue for my car. *tr

getting off interstate 95 (ct), slowing down for stop sign, brakes failed. shifted to park, pulled emergency brake, foot still on brakes to no avail. bump car in front of me before stopping. no warning lights whatsoever. called 911 and reported accident. drove car the next day to nearest honda dealer in westport, ct. explained accident to service technician. was informed that they found air entering abs modulator. they indicated that it was unsafe to drive. had to order part and repair was completed on may 9th. requested original service manager (mahwah honda, nj) of problem and asked to speak to a honda regional representative to discuss as to why no warning lights and may be caused by a defective modulator. as of today, have not received any feedback after numerous emails and telephone calls to mahwah honda. seems like honda do not want hear about these problems. i requested and received the modulator that was originally in the car. someone will get hurt if honda do not act on this problem. honda forums shows many 2007 accord brake problems. please help. thank you.

on exiting from a beltway on to a ramp and applying the brakes to slow the car, it accelerated the car and as i took my foot off the accelerator, it sped up further. i applied the brakes and the emergency brake and after going very fast over several curbs and through an intersection i was able to stop the car along side of another curb. this damaged the right fender and activated the passenger side airbag. all of the tires were flattened and the frame bent, so the car could not be repaired. the event was quite frightening and fortunately there were no cars in the road or intersection and the car stopped before hitting any structure. i was alone and not injured. i had the car inspected during the past year, since it had accelerated a few times after i removed my foot from the accelerator and applied the brakes. *tr

brakes unevenly have worn on the back, and there appears to be a caliper issue and the brake pads do not even cover the entire surface of the rotor. suddenly the car had a very difficult time stopping. with less than 28k miles the brakes should be fine. the back brakes need to be replaced but the front brakes are fine and the pads cover the entire rotor. honda needs to take responsibility for this faulty design of the rotors. *js

i went to the honda dealership for service on my 2010 honda accord sedan, the dealer said my rear brakes need to be replaced. my front brakes were fine and had twice as much pad life left on them compared to the rear pads. the cost would be $249- to replace the rear pads. i have never owned a car where the rear brakes need replacing before the front brakes. this is very concerning to me and needs to be addressed. *tr

i bought a new 2008 honda accord exl-6 vehicle. i have 72,000 miles on it, mostly highway driving. i've had my rear brakes replaced twice. the dealer tried to tell me 30,000 is average for brakes. also had all my spark plugs replaced. # 3 went bad and they suggested i replace all of them. again, telling me 70,000 miles is average for spark plug replacement. i was charged full price for all work done, i've even paid for the extended warranty and that didn't cover the spark plugs either. i wouldn't even take my car to the honda dealer but since i foolishly paid for the extended warranty, i'm afraid that will become null and void if any other mechanic touches my car for any reason. first and last honda i will ever purchase. i'd like to know if there is anyway i can find out if i'm entitled to a refund for brakes & spark plugs. just spent almost $600 having the two replaced. *js
