coming home from a camping trip with a 5th wheel camper & truck just stopped working. come to find out the stc fitting on high pressure oil pump shot apart & cracked rear timing cover. after being stuck on the highway for over 8 hours, stranded at the campground for 4 more days & $3000 to get it fixed, we then finding out that this is a common problem with this engine. this stc fitting has since been changed by the manufacturer so that it is one piece now, however there has not been a recall on it. we have several ford vehicles and it is very upsetting to go through all of this when a simple recall could have avoided it. thank you for your attention to resolving this matter & helping us get a refund for the $3000. *tr

was driving on a heavy traffic highway, in the middle lane, and truck just quit running. this is unjustifiable!! over $5000.00 in repairs to get to get this truck to run! why hasn't ford issued a recall on this notorious problem on these diesel engines?! i will continue to pursue a class act lawsuit over this, i do believe there are enough ford owners very unhappy regarding these continuing issues.

2002 ford f-350, 7.3 ltr diesel displayed loss of power and severe shaking at lower rpm's with a check engine light. took to ford dealer and was told it was a delaminate problem inside the fuel tank and i was told that this would cost in excess of $2800 to repair. this is a serious safety problem on the highway as i could only maintain 25 mph ( highway minimum is 45 mph) in an attempt to find a safe place to pull over. once the vehicle was shut down for a short time the problem resolved itself and i was able to continue on only to have the problem reoccur several miles later. i noticed that this problem basically occurs when under load and when extra throttle is needed. *tr

i had several breakdowns with my truck and had to have it towed twice. the first place it was towed to could not find the problem then after several more instances i had it towed to the dealership where i purchased the vehicle and they new the problem right away. the fuel tank delaminated and i waited two months for one because they were in production at a cost of $2000.00 to be repaired. this seems to be a wide spread problem with these trucks and it should be warrantied. *tr

while driving my 2008 f350 superduty diesel powered truck at 45mph for approx 4 miles, received message "exhaust drive complete" immediately followed by "stop safely now" and complete powerdown of engine. the truck decelerated so fast that despite my flooring the throttle, the car behind me almost collided. the truck lost so much power that i could not safely pull off road and was in a rural area between two blind curves. the whole incident happened in less than 30 seconds and left truck completely vulnerable to whatever traffic conditions were at the time of incident. after getting over to side of road, truck stalled on slight rise and did not have the power to move, however when i shut truck down, my 5ft8in 200lb body was able to push the 8000 lb vehicle over the hump. engine would not crank over after incident and was not allowed to restart until after the unit either cooled down or timed out (didn't try for 30-45 min later). by time tow truck arrived, unit would run but less than full power and check engine light was on. truck was in shop serviced for faulty egr valve and had latest ford recall for reprogramming completed less than 100 miles prior to incident. *tr

the contact owns a 2006 ford f-350 diesel. the vehicle at idle or driving down the road will without notice begin to buck, and suddenly increase rpm's and accelerate,or will stall. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they replaced the erg valve. that corrected it for about 30 days and then it started it again. i took it back and they told me i would have to replace the manifold next, because the carbon that had built up in the manifold. after a lengthy discussion they admitted that this is a serious problem with this engine. the ford engineers told them that this engine was designed by international for the european market and their diesel fuel is more refined than ours, stating that is what is causing the problem. ford refuses to stand behind the problem. just look at the internet about the 6.0 diesel engine and there is page after page stating the same problems. at this point i have not corrected the problem, i am still trying to decide how i shall proceed. the vehicle has 96,000 miles. i have only used exxon or shell fuel. *tr

2006 ford f-350 super duty diesel dump truck. this truck has been to crowley ford in plainville ct. over 50 times , yes that's right i said 50. the truck has been towed in no less than 6 times in 4 years. many times leaving a crew of 5 stranded on the side of a highway. ford technicians have not been able to determine what is wrong with the vehicle. truck will suddenly loose power or just shut off. ford has denied that there is anything wrong with this particular truck and motor but there are many contractors in our area that are having the same problem. recently the truck sat at crowley ford from march 1 through the end of march, their tech's nor fords tech's could figure out what was wrong with it. they are still denying that the gas tank delamination has any bearing on the situation. completely disgusted with ford and their lack of attention. i assume its going to take a fatality or two before the press picks up on this story and finally holds ford accountable. in the mean time small contractors and truck owners are taking it in the wallet because ford will not acknowledge this problem. please help us out here!!! *tr

de-lamination of aluminum coating in fuel tank. this sends silver particles into the fuel filter clogging said filter causing the vehicle to stall out or stop completely. ford knows there is a problem but refuses to do anything. the vehicle has 72,000 miles. i will have to spend over $1,500 to get the problem fixed. the new tank is $1,200 and is on national back order. no telling when it will come in. my truck now sits waiting. i have done lots of research on this and i am not the only one with this problem. the dealer told me he has replaced 200 or more tanks already. i'm baffled as to why nothing has been done about this. *tr
