ford motor company is not contacting current vehicle owners of serious recall notices. i surrendered my 2000 ford f150 pickup to barber ford of ventura, california when i traded it in for a newer model. since then, i have received numerous notices on safety recall #05s28 for this vehicle. i have contacted ford motor company numerous times and asked them to contact the current owner with no resolution. i have now received another notice dated july 2007. today i called the nhtsa to file a complaint that ford is not contacting the current owner of the vehicle of a serious safety recall per federal regulation. i was told by your staff that she would not take a complaint, that i needed to contact ford, or the ca attorney general's office, or the federal trade commission. i have already contacted ford numerous times with no resolution, was referred back to the nhtsa by the ca attorney general's office, and referred to the nhtsa by the federal trade commission. so, here i am, back to you, the nhtsa. ford motor company is not complying with federal regulation and nobody is willing to enforce the regulation, not even the nhtsa. any suggestions????? thank you. *tr

i am the original owner of a 2003 ford. the car has 52,000 miles and no problems until now. the car engine light came on one evening so, the next day i brought it to be serviced. it was hooked up to the electronic computer analyzer only to find out that the computer board was no good. the mechanic installs the new computer board. two weeks later i go to start the car and the rpm is accelerating like i'm driving 60mph while in park! the battery light stayed on the whole time. when i tried to put the car in neutral or drive the rpms gradually go down and the car shuts off. finally, i had to had aaa tow me back to the garage who serviced the car. the alternator was no good. after the new alternator was installed the mechanic said it still did not run properly which, lead him back to the computer board. there is problem with the computer board again. i've had 3 fords in the past and none of them ever had a problem with the computer board. *tr

i have a 2000 ford f-350 superduty truck. i heard about the recall (nhtsa #07v553000) concerning the cam position sensor in the international 7.3l diesel engine. i have had a cam position sensor failure in my vehicle which resulted in hesitation and stalling - an exceptionally fun experience on interstate 25. $312.52 later, i now have a new cam sensor. ford is only including the e-series vans, excursions and f-450 and f-550 models in the recall. the same engine, with the same cam sensor, in the same engine location was installed in f-250 and f-350 superduty models. why aren't they subject to the recall also? *tr

i was driving my 2005 ford expedition, 85,000 mile driven, was traveling on level ground in traffic at 45 mph when the engine speed went to idle and i could not accelerate. the engine was still running and both power brakes and power steering still functioned. the message on the information panel stated something to the effect of "electronic throttle dysfunction." fortunately, i was not in heavy traffic and in the right hand lane and was able to coast to a stop on the side of the road. the ignition was turned off and allowed to set for a few moments. upon restarting everything functioned properly and has continued to do so since. this could have easily been a fatal problem if the timing had been poor. my ford dealer service manager stated this is the 3rd. one like this in the last two weeks. my vehicle is presently being repaired by replacing part of its computer. unfortunately, ford does not see fit to assume responsibility. *tr
