abs system will engage for no reason at low speed and light braking. abs warning system light will come on without a reason. abs sensors replace approximately 4 times. have replaced a sensor and the abs light came back on within two miles of dealership. various dealers can't seem to correct problem, car no longer under warranty, chrysler offered to do a complete electrical diagnosis at my expense and depending on what they find they might correct the problem. problem seems to related to outside temperature, light will come on, on a warm day, off in morning and off all winter. *tr

i purchased a new 2007 chrysler sebring from a local dealership on may 30, 2007. on july 25, 2007 i was driving my vehicle and it was shaking when i applied my brakes. i immediately returned the car to my dealership and they had to resurface both rotors and resurfaced both rear drums. the mileage was 4108. in november 15, 2007 i returned my vehicle to the dealership due to brake light coming on when coming down any hill. vibration was also noted at this time. dealer checked and stated they could not find a problem. on march 24, 2008 i was coming off a hill from my job site when my brake light came on the car was making a grinding sound and i was unable to stop at the light in the intersection due to brake failure. the dealership did a road test and advised that the brakes were pulsating when hot. pulled brakes and had to replace brake pads and rotors due to deterioration. on june 9, 2008 while driving the interstate my car began to shake when i would apply the brakes. while exiting from the freeway i was unable to stop at the intersection. the brakes were making a grinding sound and did not allow me to stop at the stop sign in the intersection. once again i had no brakes. i returned the car to my dealership immediately and they checked the brakes. they advised me that they needed to resurface the rotors that were replaced by them in march 2008. this vehicle is a safety hazard and i fear that myself or my children are going to be involved in an accident where we will either be seriously injured or killed. my son who is disabled would have difficulty surviving any type of impact crash. *tr

my 2005 chrysler pacifica has an abs warning light that comes on and off, i went to midas and they told me there was a recall related to this, i went to dealership and they said only a technical advisory was issued saying to change all the brake sensors if one fails--this would cost me about $500--which i don't have. the dealership said i would still have brakes but the abs system would not work so i would be more likely to skid. this doesn't sound safe to me--i went on line and found multiple sites stating this is a problem with chrysler pacificas--so why won't chrysler pay to have it fixed, and if they don't volunteer why doesn't someone in our government make them? help! i haul kids around all day in my pacifica and i want them ( and me) to be safe. *tr

at approximately 48,000 miles the abs light came on. it eventually went off but then the brakes failed. the pedal went all the way to the floor before the car came grinding to a halt. the abs light now goes on and off and the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor at least once a day. after researching the problem and speaking to a mechanic, i found that the sensors had failed. it is a frequent occurrence among other 2005-2006 chrysler pacifica owners i've come into contact with across the internet. *tr

dot approved, nys inspected trailer hitch installed on a 2006 chrysler, pt cruise. it remained operable for around 6 months until it was noticed that rear left and right brake lights were inoperable. hitch installer retraced installation per manufacturers instructions. it appears that all power to operate the brake lamps is lost only to the rear tail lights but not the mid or third brake light. all other lights are not affected, fuses are not blown and bulbs usually check out as fine. apparently, chrysler has separated the 3rd or mid brake light from the tail light section beginning in 2006. lately, i have seen this complaint arise continuously over internet blogs and in dealership service logs. for now, chrysler is forcing its customers to either replace entire wiring harnesses or operate the vehicle without stop tail lamps. this fault in the electrical system poses so much danger it should be listed and handled as a very important service bulletin or recall. *tr

i purchased a used 2005 chrysler pacifica with 68000 miles on it. a week later the abs light came on. i was told it was the sensor but it was ok to drive. my brakes do not brake well and lock up on me. i got the pads replaced and rotors smoothed, but i am still having the sensor problem. while looking on websites, i noticed that many people have the same problem. what can be done to force chrysler to recall this sensor? *tr

making a left hand turn, i lost braking power momentarily. after that, the abs light came on, but went off after the car was turned off. it comes on and off now intermittently and i on occasion lose braking ability. the abs light does not seem to come on in correspondence with the braking issue however. i am told that this is due to faulty abs sensors which chrysler refuses to acknowledge. *tr

we have had to replace the brakes and rotors 3 times in our 2008 chrysler town and country van. the first at about 15,000 miles at a cost of 400.00, the second at a cost of 300.00 at 24,000, and now at 34500 miles another set of brakes. the brakes are defective and need to be recalled and replacement vehicles given. dealership admits problem, but no recourse against chrysler. *tr

within about 3 months of purchasing my 2005 chrysler pacifica my abs light started coming on. now it comes on and stays on. after inquiring about the problem from several shops i have been told it is a very costly fix ranging from 1000-2000 dollars. i am afraid that this problem could result in brake failure at some point and cause a wreck. chrysler needs to recall this part and fix the many who are complaining about it. *tr

leased 2008 chrysler town & country in march 2008. at 12,000 miles we experienced loss of braking, screeching, grinding and had dealer inspect brakes - was told pads were completely worn to metal and had to have brake pads replaced and rotors machined. at 21000 loss of braking again, grinding, pulling and dealer reports that rotors are below machine tolerance, pads are worn to metal and rotors have to be replaced. dealer reports this is "normal" for this van. clearly the brake materials/system are inadequate for this van and present a significant safety issue - as no driver has an expectation of brake wear and failure at 12,000 mile intervals. *tr

i wish to file a complaint about the 2008 chrysler town and country vans. these vans were produced with sub standard brake pads and rotors that wear out very prematurely and risk causing serious injury. most people do not expect their vehicles brake pads and rotors to wear out at 18,000 miles and as such could ignore important signs that a problem is ahead. at some point a brake failure is going to occur and someone will get injured or killed due to loss of brakes. this is an issue that chrysler needs to issue a recall on immediately. there are literally thousands of blogs on the internet of people that have had to change their brake pads and rotors at very low miles on brand new vans. thank you! *tr gregg henricks

brake replacement on my 2008 chrysler town and country.first incident bought used in 2009 with 18,000 miles and front brakes were replaced upon purchase. in jan 2010 agrinding noise was coming from left rear brakes. took into dealer for insp.and was told i needed new brakes and rotors at 26,000k. refused service because of the 400.00 charge spoke to service man.and he said they have done at least 40 to 50 brake jobs on the same vehicle in the last 6 months. they admitted problem but no fix or recall in site. looked on numerous forums and haves seen thousand of the same complaints. chrysler needs to recall these vehicles, because no noe should be replacing brakes on a 40,000 vehicle every 10 to 15,000 miles. *tr
