i have a 97 chrysler sebring convertible jx. recently the threading had been peeling away around the convertible top. i submitted several complaints on the net, local news station, and with daimlerchrysler. in those complaints i had mentioned concern of my back window possibly flying out the back or worse yet, falling in on my 2 year old son in his car seat!!!! about 3 or 4 weeks later, my husband was getting in the car after work and in a parked position decided to put the top down (since the air conditioner stopped working about a year prior) to the convertible, he then heard a crack and as soon as looking back the whole window shattered in over 1000 pieces all in the backseat and the hub truck area and my son's carseat!!!! my worst nightmare had come true. i had nearly brainstormed that the window would fly out the back or that it could fall in! thank you jesus, my son was not in the car!!!! i have contacted chrysler wich did nothing but charted my complaint and is probably setting in the database with no action... this really concerns me... i don't know where else to turn. my insurance said that i needed to meet my 500 dollar deductible in order for them to take care of the rest of the bill, which will only apply to a back window... not a convertible top... hello, since the top is still unraveling this new back window that they are talking about only has a couple of days before the same thing happens again! my guess, since the threading was already coming loose it caused the back window to go off track unknowingly... then when my husband put the top down it was not positioned correctly causing the window to be in the way of the convertible top reclining. please e-mail me at jaderompf@aol.com if you have any help to give or have experienced this problem. *la

i own a 2002 chrysler town & country lxi mini van. the problem i have noticed is with the passenger seats (second row). they are buckets (not bench) and can swivel forward to allow access to the third row. in order to place the seat back into position after a person has entered or exited the vehicle, you must slam the seat back into the floor. if this is not done however, the seat appears to go back into place. if you are not experienced with this, the seat does not lock back into the floor. approximately one and a half years ago, my mother entered the back seat and then pulled the second row seat back, to where she thought it was in place. my 2 year old daughter was then placed into the car seat in that second row seat. we drove away in the parking lot but at the first stop with brakes that seat slammed forward, crushing my daughter's face into the hard plastic seat in front of her. there is also a sort of hard plastic handle on that front seat that is right at cheek level. my daughter fortunately came away with a bruised cheek and black eye, but i felt very lucky that she did not fracture any of her facial bones. we have been very careful since, but just 2 weeks ago, this happened again, this time with my two year old son. again, someone who did not realize how hard you must slam the seat down to get it to lock into place got into the back seat. again, at the first stop, my son slammed forward in his car seat, crushing his face into the front seat. he too came away with a black eye and again we felt fortunate that there was no other injury. i simply wanted to report this hazard, hoping that chrysler will think about the design of these seats. the seats should not be able to appear in normal position without being locked.*ak

after having my pacifica for 1.5 years and experiencing 19 problems (54 days in the shop!); 2-3 of which are recurring (i.e. the engine light coming on), even the service department at my dealership stated that they would stand behind my efforts to get a vehicle replacement! we are completely happy with the dealership's service as they have stood behind this "lemon" better than the manufacturer appears to be able to. after talking with the chrysler representative, mr. craig kishner, i was informed that the "best" chrysler could do was to refund my extended warranty price. i pushed back and my boyfriend also called to announce our dismay at the manner in which we are being treated after being tremendously patient for 1.5 years to see if this "lemon" could be repaired to a reasonable level of usability. mr kishner then came back with the answer that chrysler would only "step up" for the previously laughable answer. we had hoped for a laudable answer. i find it difficult to believe that a manufacturer, with the questionable track record of chrysler, would want to create more adverse publicity than they already have chalked up over the course of their existence. nonetheless, we will pursue this through the courts and undoubtedly tell all of our friends and business colleauges of this horrific experience. *ak

we own a 2000 chrysler town and country limited minivan. the middle row of seats are removable. from time to time, we remove and reinstall the seats per the directions in the manual. after each time we reinstall the seat, we ensure that the seat is secure by making sure it can't disengage. despite this, the middle seats periodically disengages spontaneously, pops out, and tips forward or backward with our child in it. when this happens, we stop the car, pull over, and put the kid in a different seat. then we reinstall the seat when we are at safer spot. we test again to make sure the installation is secure and continue driving. then, a few weeks or months later, the seat pops out again. the most recent such incident is dated below. *jb

we purchased a 2006 chrysler town and country mini-van. the van is equipped with stow and go seating. on the third row seats, located on the end of each seat, left and right, is a pull tab. when my 6 year old son pulled the tab the seat ejects forward. the force created a lump on his head. the tab is easy to access and easy for a child to pull. when the tab is pulled the upper part of seat moves forward fast and with force. i believe this is a safety concern for children and even adult. especially, if you aren't expecting the movement of the seat. *jb

(1)the rear seats on the chrysler 300 c came forward in a head on accident. the weight of the luggage in the trunk pushed against the seat, broke the latch and put excessive pressure against a 9 and 11 year old held in by the seat belt. it caused their backs to break and caused major internal damage to their organic. (2)on impact (which was a head on) the car lost all electrical power making it impossible for the doors and trunk to be opened from the outside. this caused a major delay in removing the boys from the rear of the car. (3)even though it was a front end collision a fire broke out in the trunk destroying everything. the car is rapped in plastic and stored under cover. *jb
