a knocking sound has appeared again in the front suspension. about 18 months ago, a similar symptom appeared. after repeated repairs (tie-rod ends, for example), the dealer finally discovered that the front left cv 1/2 axle was defective. replacement cured the problem. apparently the same problem now happening again. a knocking sound is apparent during low speed travel on a street with slight variations. this seems to be slow enough to hear it. there is also a knock when deliberately swinging the steering wheel from side to side. i will continue to pursue remedying this repeated problem with my 2002 town and country minivan. *nm

my new 2006 chrysler 300 c with all wheel drive has a shake in the steering wheel at approx. 50 mph and the whole car develops a complete body shake at higher speeds thats feels like the wheels are gonna leave the car. the dealer road force balanced the existing tires and could not resolve the problem. then they changed the tires and it still did it . they then sent the car out for more roadforce balancing. after several attemps and enough wheel weights to balance the wheels of 2 cars, the problem was minimized but still not corrected. at highway speeds the car still feels unsafe, and it still shakes at low speed sometimes. i was told that the all wheel drive models have an unknown problem and i could consider a new car replacement, but shouldnt buy another all wheel drive because they all have this problem and that i was welcome to test drive another car exactly like mine and i would see that it to has the same problem . they have offered an extended warranty free of charge but they cant do anything else about the cars problem until perhaps enough complaints were filed to force chrysler to do something about it.i dont know if its a wheel problem or drivetrain or other but i fear whatever this problem is it may eventually endanger my life as well as others.

had a major oil leak. thought it might be a cracked oil filter. took it in to local shop and found out it was a failure in the crank case seal. they said it was caused by excessive vibration in the engine. they said it was caused by an unacceptable variance in the drive shaft causing excessive pressure on the seal. the vehicle only has 60,000 miles on it and we change the oil regularly. the shop checked and found several other like problems with the sebring over the past several months in identifix.com. this cost me $675.00 and only fixed the oil leak. the major issue with the drive shaft isn't fixed. the vehicle hasn't been in an accidents to cause any internal problems that are my fault. i think chrysler should help with these costs to the owners that have incurred these excessive costs. *tr

you could actually feel the bump in the steering wheel at initial acceleration as the motor mounts continued to get worse. generated a very metallic noise in the transmission as well. motor mounts had to be replaced. it's hard to tell what residual effects this will have on the vehicle since this has affected the overall alignment of the transmission, steering etc. i've spoken with other owners this has happened to. apparently, this has been going on since the inception of the car model, 04-05. *tr

between multipoint vehicle inspections performed in 12/2008 and 11/2009), my vehicle developed a rear axle differential seal leak. with less than 59000 miles normal vehicle operation and less than three years of ownership, i am confronted with a defective rear axle differential seal. without replacement of this expensive factory defect, there is a possibility for the rear axle to over heat and possibly ignite the vehicle afire. *tr

have a 2005 chrysler pt cruiser and only 45,000 miles on it. after feeling a bad vibration for a week or so and noises when making turns, i took my car back to where i had new tires put on thinking they had defective details to them. come to find out that the front bearings are bad already. thinking to myself that this shouldn't be happening in this early of mileage, i started looking into trying to replace them myself as the costs everywhere for this repair is too much for our family to bear right now. in looking for the diagrams for the front end, i came across this forum with 155 posts of the same complaint on this model car from 2001 to current models, including one post of a lady who lost her son in an accident due to this faulty part/assembly. i truely believe this warrants further review as it seems with so many of the same issue (and this is only what had been posted, not including people who had this issue and just keep paying for the repair over and over) it makes me question the quality of chrysler pt's for sure. please review this as it may save someone's (including my own) life. website for posts for your reference is http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chrysler-pt-cruiser/til09od8d72erulqa/p4

my engine has been ticking from the beginning about 2 days after i bought it. cash! for my dad's birthday... brand new from town and country dealership. they told me to bring it back, this is in conyers ga. i took it back they said they fixed it. or it is a new engine and it will stop, or the gas cap was not on right and they would fix it. each time i bought it back the noise would stop for awhile then it would come back. just keep your oil changed and there will be no problem this is what mr. larry repair boss told me. well. i didn't hear the noise as much when i picked it up and the rental car was getting expensive and they try to tell me i didn't buy the extra warranty but i did! they told me i could keep driving it. or they tried to sell me a newer one...sell no way! because my job requires me to drive i need a good running car. (i'm a minister) now the noise is louder and the engine sounds like it is losing power. i can not say how many times i told them that the car needed a new engine but they kept on trying to sell me another car instead of replace the car or fix it with a new engine. the right side of my car pulled to the right when braking and they told me to go to good year and i did. they said it was manufacturing that they could not tighten up that side take it back but i ended up paying for good year to fix that. now the warranty is gone for real and the noise is louder. it is not the fly wheel or the trans it is in the engine right side in the back under the head gasket. i'm an retired jeep employee and i use to inspect on the engine line. i knew this was not good to keep happening so now i have to pay for a engine too? wow pistons or lifters, or something is wrong with that car in my engine! help! [xxx] is it because i'm a girl? they didn't listen or got treated this way. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

2006 chrysler pacifica -- axle clanks when i lift my foot off gas pedal when slowing down in traffic and then put foot on gas pedal at any speed.. took in to chrysler dealer and they said need new axle which will cost $1000 plus tax approx. said this is common to pacifica's and my problem was not as loud and as bad as other pacifica's they have seen and worked on. i don't see why i have to pay for this repair when this is "common to pacifica's". in fact my own mechanic looked at it and said the very same thing --- why wasn't vehicle recalled. what can i do? i don't have $1200 to fix this. and if chrysler mechanics say this is "quirk of the pacifica's" , then why is the repair on me? i'm worried this will get to the point where i cant drive the car. *tr
