wipers stop- the wipers have "off", "intermittent", slow, fast. when the wipers are in "slow" and the car comes to a stop (such as a red light, stop sign, pedestrian, turning across traffic) the wipers stop! while the car is stopped they may start in 5 sec, 10 sec , 20 sec (based on rain sensor?) or when you start moving & reach 2-3 miles per hour (how do you start moving when you can't see?). if you need to move & they have not started to wipe, you must move the lever so you can see to start moving. if you leave them in the fast speed (too fast for most of the time), they will slow but not stop when the car stops. i've taken it to the dealer & spoken with audi customer service & they say they are working "as designed"! who designs wipers to stop in the middle of the street during the rain?! *tr updated 06/25/2012*js

1. exterior lights and turn signal lights burning out at a rate of every 500 miles. audi will not replace. 2. wiper transmission has corroded, seized, failed, and consequently burned out the wiper motor 2x now - once at 40,000 miles and again at 80,000. audi would not cover this under the initial new car warranty, and they demand $750+ to fix this faulty assembly. 3. coolant and wiper fluid tanks are made out of cheap plastic. i've had 2-3 leaks in each tank due to holes in these tanks across the life of the car. the most recent coolant tank leak was pushing coolant through so fast that it burned up my engine and my timing belt snapped. i had to pay for this repair - $2,000+. these are just 3 problems among countless costly problems i've incurred since the 3-year warranty ran out on my audi. i've easily matched the $35k+ cost of the car with parts and repairs, and the car only has 88,000 miles on it. the coil pack recall has been an issue at least every 2,000 miles. i cannot make a trip of more than 100 miles without a coil snapping, a trip to the dealership, and an argument with service reps about whether or not i have to pay for these coil repairs. 88,000 miles later, the a4 i purchased brand new is basically not safely drivable except to run short errands around the city. all of this is not even to mention the cheap materials that went into the car interior. leather is wearing in places no one even sits, and all the rubberized buttons have peeled away. please help. audi will do nothing. i've spoken to others who have this same make and model sitting in a garage because it is no longer drivable. there are 2 known recalls on this car, but there is something more serious going on with the build than just the coil pack and fuel injector. my car has stalled and seized on relatively short highway trips despite routine maintenance and attention to recalled parts. *tr

i was driving home and right headlight started flickering, almost like a strobe light then all of a sudden the light goes out then comes back on by its self. then goes back off and stays off so i pull off the road. i look at the light and it is still out. i turn my lights off then back on and it works like new, but it keeps happening. this is very dangerous. what happens if both light goes out and this happens, its the manufacturer fault not mine. there should be a recall or do something about this before someone gets hurts, or lose their life. *tr

a defective passenger side window sprocket in the pulley assembly caused the window to jam in a halfway open position which caused a dangerous visilibility condition while operating the vehicle in a snowstorm. the vehicle was literally approximately 36 hours past the time duration of the factory standard warranty period therefore audi refused to assume liability for the window pulley assembly's failure. *tr

this is a continuing problem when it rains. the intermittent setting on the windshield wipers is ineffective and i believe dangerous as visibility is significantly impaired. during moderate rainy periods, the interval, which is supposed to be sensed by devices in the windshield responds erratically, with intervals varying from over 30 seconds to about 2-3 seconds and then intervals in-between. this is particularly challenging when passing trucks on limited access highways where the passing time can be extended by traffic. requests for repair of this erratic operation have been made, but without resolution of the problem. i have been to the dealer twice and no resolution. *tr

the front headlights for this vehicle intermittently fail and then work again. investigation revealed frayed, shorted out, damaged, wiring inside of the headlights. the insulation on many wires inside the headlights are cracked, missing, failed and the bare copper or conductors touching other nearby conductors. i've made contact with audi twice now for a safety issue with the headlights. twice, i've been told either they weren't interested or would not do anything. outside of any repair or replacement requests, i would expect audi to take interest when a customer brings a safety issue to their attention. i would think faulty wiring inside both headlights on a model-year 2007 would be a safety concern. if i'm driving down the road at night or in the rain and my headlights short out and fail, i wouldn't be in a good position. i've worked in manufacturing for 10 years now, and safety of workers and of the products made have always been the #1 concern. this information should be treated as an amazing opportunity to determine a root cause and prevent future occurrences in new vehicles. it's not often information is presented so easily. this would possibly save the company money in warranty replacements, and eliminate the risk of crashes or injury due to failures. but, the information so far has been treated as a dismissive customer request/complaint. this failure is because of poor design (wrong wire jacket/insulation chosen for environment), not natural wear and tear, age, or abuse. i have detailed pictures of the failure i can provide. regards.

all four tpms sensors need replacing along with new tires. right side motor mount is leaking fluid, and wipers streak. 80,616 mileage. in 2012 i bought new tires, wipers and regular oil changes. i'm disappointed that now i'm faced with a leaking motor mount. i take very good care of my car, i shouldn't have these major repair issues. angie nash
