rainwater leaked into the vehicle, collecting in the passenger footwell, shorting out several electrical components. i understand vw/audi vehicles have a history of this occurring due to firewall/pollen filter/sunroof deficiencies which allow this to happen and they and their dealerships are very uncooperative in even acknowledging such a problem exists in the design of these vehicles. very unfair to consumers to deny such a problem exists and they should be held accountable. *tr

i had stopped at a light prepared to make a right turn. when i accelerated to turn i heard and felt a large clunk in the rear end of my car; i thought i had been rear-ended but no other car was there. i then could feel and hear something dragging so i pulled over. i could see the rear axle hanging down on the ground and the wheel well on the driver rear buckled inward. it turned out that one of the bolts that held my rear axle in place was missing and the other one sheared off due to stress. my car literally dropped its rear axle. i have never had work done that would have entailed removing this bolt so the only assumption is that it was either loose or missing when i purchased the car. i am very thankful that it happened when i was accelerating from a stop not passing a car on the interstate! *tr

i bought a 2003 audi a4 convertible in november 2008 and since then the defective convertible top has resulted in the rear glass window to be nearly completely loose. this is a major hazard and represents a danger since the window could fall out and hurt other people. audi of santa monica said they can't/won't fix it and referred me to an upholstery shop who said they have seen this problem before and can't fix it (despite audi recommending them for fixing this). a detailed check of numerous online discussion boards (in the u.s. and germany) shows that this is an extremely coming problem for 2003 audi convertibles that audi simply refuses to acknowledge. 2003 was the first year that karmann manufacture the roof and, interestingly, harmann in germany seems to accept some responsibility and has fixed this problem for some people, charging only for labor. i strongly recommend that nhtsa look into this faulty manufacturing issue and force audi to accept responsibility for it. *tr

forgot to install c clip on temp sensor on radiator hose which popped out causing major engine damage and blown head gasket which was denied for many months. in oct. 08 they forgot to tighten bracket which caused wires to smoke and fire.aug 08-trimmed serpentine belt rather than replaced and car stopped running in middle of interstate. sept 09 replaced oil pan but forgot to put plug back oct 08 oil residue on damper they threw out and did not replace. they forgot to put bolts back on sub frame and miracle i was not killed. this caused axle problems. when they replaced bolts they did not have bushings in stock and they released car without these bushings which is a safety violation. when bushings came in they refused to work on our vehicle and we had to go to different mechanic. they told us we needed timing belt when the headgasket was blown. now there is new recall for coil packs and they refuse to work on our car. the new gm is listening to the service mgr. who is not telling the complete story nor is the new gm reviewing the facts. our lives are in danger with this vehicle and since we still owe $15k we cannot trade it in. started june 2008 and continues until today. coil packs which were just recalled are causing car not to run and we are stuck *cw

2002 audi allroad 2.7t. this vehicle is equipped with air suspension. the pump assembly is located under the car in between the rear wheels and has a protection cover. this car is allwheel drive and includes standard amenities such as a skibag. one would expect this car to hold well in cold climate. after 8 yrs of use, the pump assembly is corroded to the point where it has separated from its support. it is still operating, but now appears to rest on the protective cover, which itself is held by three fasteners also corroded and disintegrating. a concern is that the assembly falls off and presents a hazard for following vehicles, as well as a hazard for how the car handles as this pump feeds the air suspension. pictures of the corroded assembly and cover fasteners are available. a search on audi-forum shows that there might be other instances of the same for this type of vehicle at about the same age. *tr

tl* the contact owns a 2002 audi a6. the vehicle was recently purchased used and taken to a local repair facility for routine maintenance. the mechanic advised the contact that the vehicle was previously involved in a crash and that the rear cross member was fractured and had been re-welded in four different locations. the mechanic also advised that one of the fractures was only partially welded and the vehicle was not safe to drive. the mechanic stated that if the weld was to fracture again, it would potentially cause a crash and the contact would not be able to maintain control of the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired and left with the dealer. the failure and current mileage was 92,764.

Mileage was 92764 miles. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):WAUJT64B62N. Vehicle was not using anit-lock brakes. Vehicle was not using Cruise Control.
