at low speeds on rough streets, all 4 wheel suspensions make a very metallic noise. i have been lead to beleive that it is due to mis manufactured brake components. one dealer did "bend" the brake "clips" and the noise subsided for about 1000 miles, but the problem is back and the dealers are saying it is a mfgr problem and they can't fix without factory tech support which has not been forth coming. i only know other 2005 acura rl owner in the small town of visalia (100k pop.) and he is being given the same runaround. my concern is brake failure or my seriously suspension failure such as broken welds or defective materials. i have had the car to two different dealerships on three different occasions and they keep saying the problem is elsewhere, but the only thing that has made the noise go away was when the dealership (superior acura in bakersfield, ca) supposedly bent the brake "clips". mysteriously that action was not listed on the service report when my wife picked up the car, but it is in their service records. acura is hiding as significant problem and i am about to enact the ca lemon law and you should investigate why honda/acura is being very mysterious about this issue - they on one hand say there is a fix on the way and then in the next breath say that the noise is coming from somewhere else???

the rear of the vehicle pulls to the side when using the brakes on the freeway. when i had my mechanic check it, he found that the right rear wheel had excessive toe-in and corrected it. this is with a with a brand new automobile. i took it to the dealer for other problems also and they denied anything was wrong. again, this is a brand new car with less than 500 miles on it. it started occurring with 100 miles on it. this report is for a acura rsx automobile. there is no selection for the acura rsx automobile on this website (next page). *jb

dt: the contact stated when hitting a bump the rear end the vehicle skidded out. causing abnormal tire wear. he replaced the rear tires twice, every 7,000-8,000 miles. the vehicle has been taken to two different dealerships, and they were unable to diagnose the problem. *ak updated 12/7/2005. the consumer's vehicle is now on it's third set of tires. the dealer stated that since the rear tire were worn evenly that alignment was not the problem. *nm

my 2005 acura tl el42 bridgestone rear tires went completely bald on a 3000 mile trip(19000 miles total) from dallas to colorado and back. it appears that there is a suspension/tire problem where the rear alignment under full load of 2 passangers and luggage in the trunk degrades and causes severe tire wear. this causes severe loss of control on wet pavement with rear hydroplaning at even <50 mph. acura has a tsb and replace tires at lowered cost but only with the suspect el42 tires. after further internet searches this seem not to be isolated incident.

my rear chambers on my 2004 acura tsx had to be replaced due to problems. i noticed other people are also complaining about having to replace these early in their car history. the dealership did not tell me how long mine how been out but i estimate that it was probably about 50,000 miles because that is when my rear tires started wearing out prem. *nm

bought a used 2006 acura tsx at an auto auction in december, 2008. i noticed the tires were worn unevenly so i took it to my mechanic for an alignment. he immediately noticed that the rear wheels had a fairly noticeable negative camber, more so on the right rear than the left rear, of about 2 degrees, then when he put the car on the rack, he found the front tires had a small toe in problem that could be adjusted but the rear suspension had no provision for adjustment of the camber. i did some investigations on the internet to see how others were dealing about this problem, and found that a lot of other tsx owners were aware of the problem and that there were several aftermarket manufacturers making rear suspension adjustment kits. i then stopped in to my regular acura dealer repair department and talked with the service manager to see what could be done. he said that if i had brought the car in during the warranty period, i would have been covered, but since the car was over the 50,000 mile warranty period, i was out of luck. i asked him what the factory specifications were for the rear camber, and he told me that it was a minus 1 degree, plus or minus 30 minutes. i pressed him further, pointing out that this defect was built into the car and that the mileage on the car had no bearing on the amount of camber, and that if i had brought the car in to their shop to get the rear camber brought into factory specs, the shop wouldn't have been able to do that without a new rear linkage kit. i have noticed the rear camber problem on most tsx's in this generation of the car when i'm out and about. the service manager did tell me that everyone knows that you only get 25-30k miles out of a set of tires on a tsx, and i agreed but pointed out that was only because the rear camber design defect causes greatly increased wear on the inner part of the tire. my mechanic usually sets the rear camber at a -1/4 to 1/2 degree, and we can't figure out why the acura design team did this. *tr
